One Playoff Driver Excluded from NASCAR Xfinity Race at Talladega Post-Red Flag Incident
A significant crash during the NASCAR Xfinity Series United Rentals 250 at Talladega led to a red flag in the race's opening stage on Saturday afternoon, involving several playoff drivers and resulting in one driver's early exit.
Sheldon Creed was navigating the pack when Jeb Burton's tap sent him soaring through the field, crashing into the SAFER barrier at the outer edge of Talladega's trioval. The impact left Creed's car severely damaged, with over 60% of its bodywork missing, forcing him to withdraw from the race. Jememy Clements, Brandon Queen, and Ryan Sieg also had to retire due to the damage sustained.
Creed's playoff journey took a turn as he entered the final round in the last position. After a disappointing finish in Las Vegas and a DNF at Talladega, he now faces a critical must-win scenario at Martinsville.
The race was halted for wall repairs following Creed's collision.
